I did this last year and, besides contributing to a much-needed conversation about women in publishing, it made me a more critical consumer of magazines. (Anyone else remember that issue of the New Yorker last summer where the only piece written by a woman was Ariel Levy’s review of Naomi Wolff’s Vagina? Yeah.)
